I hasten to go over what the heck everyone's "most admired" figure is. Only Veronica as Cleopatra makes fullest intuitive sense. It is weird enough that Jughead goes with Benjamin Franklin instead of -- oh -- he was name dropping Colonel Sanders in this century, but at least there is some decency there. Also weird Betty is Marie Antoinette -- but I guess there exists class envy. Moose and Midge are... Bonnie and Clyde or Laurel and Hardy? That can't be right? Finally -- Archie is... Napoleon. Huh. Did not know he was that ambitious.

Vincent Gardenia

Physique: Average Build Height: 5’ 8½" (1.74 m)

Vincent Gardenia (born Vincenzo Scognamiglio; January 7, 1920 – December 9, 1992; aged 72) was an Italian-American stage, film and television actor. He was nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, first for Bang the Drum Slowly and again for Moonstruck. He also portrayed Det. Frank Ochoa in Death Wish and its 1982 sequel, Death Wish II, and played Mr. Mushnik in the musical film adaptation Little Shop of Horrors. Gardenia's other notable feature films include Murder Inc., The Hustler, The Front Page, Greased Lightning, Heaven Can Wait and The Super. But he is perhaps best known as Frank Lorenzo, Archie Bunker's jovial, singing neighbor on All in the Family.

Short, stocky character player whose furrowed brow, hawk nose and hearty manner made him an instantly recognizable figure on stage, screen and TV from the late 1950s. Gardenia isn’t classically sexy, but he does have something. I had a crush on him after seeing Moonstruck as a kid.

Born in Naples Italy and raised in New York, and whhen he was two, he was involved in the theatre in some way from then on. Gardenia also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. His first English-speaking stage role was in the 1955 Broadway play "In April Once". He made his first movie two years later, Murder Inc., and thereafter divided his time equally between films, television and the theatre.

Lets see, Gardenia never married or had any kids. Knowing that and looking at those lips of his, I image he was gay. What? I didn’t say he was gay. I just imagine he was. There’s a difference. Gardenia passed away on December 9, 1992 from a heart attack at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

if we had to stay in the 50s, the last episode of riverdale should have been a merrily we roll along musical episode where jughead is taking back control over the narrative after future Archie and jughead have a friendship ending fight (Franklin Shepard inc.). Jughead can't handle that so he makes them regress and go back in time so things can be how they were, keeping everyone hostage as eternal teens in Riverdale so they never reach the future where he and archie aren't friends

""Fanart"" based on a picture I saw on @robotnik-mun's account, A terrifyingly beautiful concept art of Tommy Turtle where he looks like an elderly underfed Dragonball Z alien. Where did this even come from? A book? I can't find it online.

I have a weird admission to make. I’ve had a low key obsession with this character for a couple of months now. Mostly because I didn’t finish reading Archie until years after it ended. The pre-boot anyway. (Probably won’t ever finish reboot…) But years upon years ago I remember reading on forums how much people hated Tommy but I didn’t understand why. I was like “who the heck is this guy to be hated so much?” I read the comic and was like “okay he is kinda….very boring. But he doesn’t take up that much space.” Then I read Archie Sonic review blogs and it made more sense. I flew by Tommy Turtle but in the past readers suffered with him slowly. Because of this, I obsessed a bit on how to make him better. I’ve daydreamed about working on Sonic projects and this character has made me think about how to not introduce your OC into the franchise.

First of all if not most important….Tommy isn’t a cute girl Sonic OC so he was doomed by about 50% just from that. Second of all, his design in the comic was bad. Archie really really really struggled with Sonic’s design philosophy and just made a lot of furries. Tommy looks like he belonged on a Nick Jr cartoon.

Then I actually watched an episode of Franklin and I take it back. Franklin looks more like a Sonic character than Tommy does. All this to say I think some of the hatred MIGHT have been curved if Tommy looked more sonic-y and not like a generic American cartoon turtle. I tried, not saying my design is the best, but a quick google search got me 1 singular redesign so I decided to try as well.

I have mulled over how to actually rewrite Tommy but I’m no writer. I’ll probably draw him some more though.
